Often, when the human being arrives at a certain point on this spiritual path, suddenly, due to some bigoted and even demonic temptations, he begins to consider that the path, as it runs, is too difficult, that it involves too much effort. In such situations, we find that such a being deviates, “descends to the foot of the mountain”; and starts again, trying to ascend again but with another variant, saying to himself: “Now, even without doing anything, I will be able to reach all of a sudden, the top of the mountain ”. And so, the aspirant starts again; but, at some point, because of the same demon that manifests itself cyclically, halfway he realizes that even now it is difficult to continue. He descends again and starts climbing again, so that even after 15 - 20 years he will be able to overcome a quarter of the height of the mountain. This kind of people have internally shown a very strong selfishness and the tendency to imagine, in a phantasmagoric way, that they can embark on a spiritual path that can be followed with maximum benefits (because they aim first of all for advantages) and minimum effort. From this point of view, we can say that these people “despair”; in an attempt to discover a path by which to get everything without doing anything. Evidently such paths do not exist and, when someone presents us with something like this, we must be aware of the fact that it is something false ... It happens exactly as when the special effects of the films are made (especially the older ones): the actors are standing in the same place, while behind them, on a cylinder, various landscapes flow; this creates the sensation of travel, but it is only a sensation. This sort of illusion, which appears in those who are victims of it, causes terrible suffering and disappointments. When we begin to embark on a spiritual journey it is very important to see what we have done to be able to go higher, and possibly compare our results with those of others. This is because teamwork has the immense advantage that allows us to perceive what we have not yet managed to do. And if we notice that a colleague of ours is 15 times better than us, in the sense that we find that he achieves many results as a result of his spiritual practice, in no case should we blame the system or the one who guides us, as the latter cannot oblige us , force or blackmail us to evolve. It is a strictly personal problem that concerns only ourselves.
THE MASTERS OF WISDOM SAY: “Go everywhere, learn all you can and memorize what is good”; He who is truly gifted with intelligence and the power to discern is capable, even when confronted with a particular situation, of assimilating what truly completes him on the path he is taking. A being who has a minimum of responsibility and who really wants to undertake a spiritual journey, at the beginning arrives and says: “I am this, welcome me!”; While when he leaves he can say: “It was this, thank you and goodbye!“; So it must be a relationship, at least from a human point of view. We can add to the path that we are walking some additional elements, which we discover or see in another path, but they must be common sense. However, this does not imply abandoning the path we have followed and starting another one.
The special effects of the cinema and that specific way in which you imagine to advance, represent in fact a dead end street, a closed street; it is as if the subject is on a treadmill - he makes all kinds of efforts, even runs, and yet he remains still. It is certain the fact that in such a situation being wastes time: the most precious asset, which no one will ever be able to compensate; he also loses a lot of energy. The time element, however, is the most valid thing, because if someone loses even one hour, no one will ever be able to return it to him. It is lost forever. Not even energy can be compensated, at least not totally: what you foolishly consumed in your youth cannot be easily regained at 80 years of age. It is one thing to have the awakening of kundalini energy at 17, an account at 83; it is one thing to be able to transmute your potential creator at 15, another at 79. These are very useful considerations to understand, as it has been observed several times how certain people who have practiced for many years have not been able to understand even the slightest part of similar spiritual aspects, unlike others who have assimilated them and have been then able to perform authentic spiritual leaps. There are still people who, despite saying they have practiced Yoga for years, drag themselves in this way with a bitter, discontented, frustrated attitude. There is the possibility that a spiritual guide will support someone more, when the devotion that the aspirant has towards the Divine makes him worthy to receive. There are some, however, who, in their painful egoism, consider having to receive everything; and if a situation arises in which they have to engage themselves in an action in which to put down a little effort, this would already represent a great drama, a problem, and they would perform it completely bored just to get rid of it and to “show” - so however, only for having made that small gesture, their requests would increase, since they would claim to have done their duty formally. All this is clearly an indication of a painful mentality, typical of the opportunist person, who lives according to the motto: “Everything is for me and I for nobody”. This attitude highlights an internal state of ferocious selfishness: among these beings are those who have the most aberrant claims, who take it more than the others, who have the most exacerbated pride and feel very offended if by chance they are ignored. Always among these people are those who never read the material related to their Yoga courses, and who, despite the years of practice accumulated on this path, do not even pose the problem to the smallest and most trivial problem: “I could do something”; Or say: “Here, I have 15 variants, but I can’t decide, what do you say? which is the best? “; The effort on the spiritual path is important and indicates that you are interested, that you want to evolve consciously and that you are not among the category of people who wait for everything to fall from heaven or who pretend that it is the Master who does everything for them. “I go to the Master to get help; there is so much for this; I don’t need to make any effort! “ Some have this childish mentality, which is nowhere near spiritually authentic! By continuing to do so, however, the disciple will remain in a state of dependence which is not specific to the one who truly aspires to know God. We must be aware of the fact that spiritual evolution is possible only if the person is conscious, and it is important that he places efforts in this direction. We will not evolve if it is another who solves our problems. In this way we will only turn around in a vacuum having the impression of evolving, deluding ourselves. It is like when a person continually turns with the machine in one direction, without ever deciding to take an exit and continue. It will always be in the same place, even if the machine continues to turn. While it is important to ask ourselves where we really want to go, and then to analyze with sincerity and lucidity if our way of acting takes us in that direction. On the spiritual path, sincerity is very important. In the first place, we must be honest with ourselves. Only when we no longer lie to ourselves will we advance spiritually. Until then we will only have one surrogate that we will consider spirituality. An authentic journey implies being honest with ourselves, asking ourselves questions about our existence, making the right decisions and applying them until we get the expected results. It is important that we ask ourselves - and that we sincerely respond after careful analysis - what changes we have achieved so far. We must try to analyze this fact even after a few months: see if we have changed compared to a few months ago. See if our spiritual experience has changed or if it is the same as a year ago. See how we perceive and manifest ourselves towards the world from one year to the next. Are we more mature? Are we more understanding? Do we get angry being more detached? Can we find some qualities in the people we conflict with? These are just some aspects, which we can take as reference points in order to make a lucid analysis of our current and future state.
